General Principles

Papua Medicine and Health Science (PMHS) publishes original articles on all aspects of medicine, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, sensory systems, neurology, psychiatry, biomedical science, community medicine, radiology, and dentistry. The health aspects include midwifery, nursing, public health, nutrition, and pharmacy. The journal places major consideration on health issues in Papua, such as stunting, tuberculosis, malaria, and other tropical infections. As a primary requirement, each article submitted to PMHS must be an original work that has not been previously published or submitted for publication to any other academic journal. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be written in Indonesian and/or English. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit all articles for style, format, and clarity. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in these aspects. Manuscripts with numerous errors in any aspect may be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected. All manuscripts will undergo peer review and editorial review.

Researchers are encouraged to use Turnitin to verify the originality of their work before submission. Please note that this screening is not a submission requirement, but it can help authors avoid plagiarism. The responsibility for the originality of the submitted manuscript lies entirely with the authors.
